Apr 01, 2013 · Make sure that the ports are on the same VLAN in DD-Wrt. Also, some versions of DD-WRT are set to interprete port1 as WAN, and ports 2 as LAN. If this is the case, and routing functionality has been completely disabled, look for the option "Assign WAN port to LAN". Also in the DD-WRT config sometimes there is a "bridged" or "isolated" mode. The problem with DD-WRT is that there seem to be too many settings that effect the same feature. In my case it turned out wired connection wasn't yet bridged - ie couldn't ping google from behind the RE1000. I had to manually change to VLAN config, assign the WAN port to the LAN (I also disabled the non-existent ports 1 trough 4 ) It sounds like E1000 is not letting the modem/router's DHCP to assign IP address. If that's the case, just setup E1000 as a wireless router instead. What you have currently is LAN-LAN connection. The modem/router stays as is. You need Internet-LAN connection. It's on the link I provided but somewhere in the middle of the page. 3) Moving from Kong’s DD-WRT to AsusWrt-Merlin was a breeze, simply uploaded the .chk file (included in the ZIP file) on the “upgrade” page of DD-WRT (set “reset to default settings”!!!! After the upgrade a popup appeared automatically once I connected to the “new” Wifi (called NETGEAR) and walked me through the initial setup.
DD-WRT Build Info Brainslayer added E2000 support in 14929, and builds are found in the broadcom_K26 folder for each build. Build 25974 works well but later k2.6 builds have VAP issues.
